Church Farm is found on the edge of the small, peaceful stone village of Fillingham, which nestles at the base of the
Lincolnshire Scarp, the limestone edge that slices through the county and extends down to the Cotswolds.
The village church dates mainly from the seventeen hundreds, although the west doorway is 12th century.
John Wycliffe, the fourteenth-century religious reformer and the first man to translate the Bible into English,
was rector of the parish in the 1360s.
Fillingham Church
There is a large, privately owned, lake in the village offering fishing with daily
permits available on request during the season at a cost of £10 each. Please note that this offer is only open to Bed and
Breakfast guests.
Fillingham is located just off the B1398 which runs parallel to the A15. It is within easy reach of the county's capital of
Lincoln and is near to Gainsborough, Market Rasen, Scunthorpe and of course the beautiful Lincolnshire coastline.
The M18, M180 and A1 are all nearby as are Humberside International and Nottingham International (formerly East Midlands)
airports and rail links from Lincoln and north sea ferries from Hull.
